6 Tips On How To Be A Busy Bee & Manage it All!
1) Create to-do lists
I am still an old fashioned pen and notebook lover so every evening I write down my to-do’s for the next day, in order and time-based. In today’s modern world use the memo, notes or calendar on your phones or any personal scheduling software app. By laying out what you need to do everyday you will clear the clutter in your mind and focus on getting it done. It may be something as simple as paying a long lost parking ticket. However, the sooner you complete the things you need to do, the sooner you will feel more relieved, relaxed and get a sense of accomplishment as you tick them off one after the other (in the case of tech lovers, delete them).
2) Manage your time well
Most of us give certain activities too much time while giving others too little time. As a result, we tend to skip certain activities we wanted to do because we ran out of time or are too tired by the end of the day to kick in a short work out session or grab a quick coffee with a friend. Build a routine for yourself in which you can involve both the activities you need to do and the activities you want to do. Don’t forget to still have fun and take a break.
3) Disconnect when needed
We live in a world where it is almost impossible to ignore your phone with messages and social media apps that are constantly beeping and demanding your attention. We are connected 24/7 to work, friends, family and even strangers which as a result, easily gets you distracted. So when you need to get something done and are pressed on time, turn off your phone or simply put it in a different room to focus on what needs to get done.
4) Focus on your most productive time of day
Some people tend to work better in the mornings and others are more focused in the evenings. Learn when you are most productive and slot in those attention needed to-do’s during that time.
5) Remember that there are only 24 hours in a day
If you are not able to finish everything on your list, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just put the task you didn’t accomplish that day as the first thing to accomplish on the next. Some days some errands take longer than expected or unexpected hiccups arise along the way or you find you needed to sleep in a few extra hours and that’s completely fine. You’ll always get back on track so don’t be too hard on yourself.
6) Sleep for 7-8 hours every night
Don’t underestimate what a good night’s sleep can do for you. The right amount of sleep will help keep you energetic, alert, thinking clearly and focused so you can get everything done and stay smiling!
