The ‘Out of my Comfort Zone’ Experience

A few days ago, I got a call asking me to come in for a casting that not only involved cooking in front of a camera but required me to present in Arabic ‘4 nutritional tips to follow during Ramadan.’ I am sure all of my friends and family are already laughing.

Let me just rewind a little… Although I am a 100% Lebanese, when I try to speak Arabic I say A LOT of wrong words at the wrong time and pass 1 Arabic word between every 10 (or waaay more) English words. I have found myself in many awkward situations, where I have pronounced words so terribly wrong that I was saying things I shouldn’t be saying (blame it on growing up abroad).

1) Create to-do lists

I am still an old fashioned pen and notebook lover so every evening I write down my to-do’s for the next day, in order and time-based. In today’s modern world use the memo, notes or calendar on your phones or any personal scheduling software app. By laying out what you need to do everyday you will clear the clutter in your mind and focus on getting it done. It may be something as simple as paying a long lost parking ticket. However, the sooner you complete the things you need to do, the sooner you will feel more relieved, relaxed and get a sense of accomplishment as you tick them off one after the other (in the case of tech lovers, delete them).
